About Chanonry Point
Jutting into the Moray Firth between Fortrose and Rosemarkie, Chanonry Point is famous for close-up views of wild bottlenose dolphins, particularly on incoming tides when they chase salmon through the channel. Visitors gather along the pebble shore near the lighthouse, scanning the water for dorsal fins and leaps. Even without dolphins it's a lovely coastal spot, with views across to Fort George and along the Black Isle. Parking is limited, so arriving on foot from Fortrose or Rosemarkie is often the most relaxing option.
