About Highland Explorer
How it started
A gap spotted by people who know the Highlands inside out
Highland Explorer was born out of a simple frustration. The team behind Milton Hotels, one of the Highlands' most established hospitality groups, were regularly fielding the same questions from guests: where to eat, what to see, which walks were suitable for families, which castles were worth the detour.
There was no single, trustworthy resource that pulled it all together. The information existed, scattered across dozens of sites, but there was nothing that felt genuinely useful, genuinely independent, and genuinely passionate about the Scottish Highlands as a place.
So we built it. Highland Explorer is that resource, curated by people who work in Highland tourism every day and care deeply about helping visitors experience Scotland at its best.
